Course Description:

You may not know it, but every case is a systems case! We do not exist in vacuums and for far too long, the field of psychology has emphasized the individual as the source of symptoms and the solution to healing. Incorporating systems work in your clinical practice helps to create a context-based framework which allows for long-lasting symptom change and treatment. This workshop demonstrates how to invite others into the room for our clients and help break cycles of dysfunction.

Course Learning Outcome Objectives:

1.  Participants will be able to apply techniques to incorporate systems work with individuals.

2.  Participants will be able to identify how to work with clients resistant to family work.

3.  Participants will be able to overcome therapist anxiety about working with multiple people in the room.

4.  Participants will be able to assess ethical considerations when incorporating family systems.
